She wanted to assist Ginny Honomichl in teaching the Baldwin School District staff how to save a life if they are ever faced with a life-threatening situation.

- Last Monday, the Baldwin School Board was one of many districts around the state that sat through a brief webinar before its monthly meeting. Changes in the Kansas Open Meeting Act forced the school board’s first-ever Internet seminar.

- Although the Baldwin School District’s mill levy slightly increased for the 2008-2009 fiscal year, the effect to taxpayers won’t be much, according to Supt. Paul Dorathy.

- While no time frame is set yet, Supt. Paul Dorathy wants the Baldwin School Board to start planning how to use its most recent land purchase. An area of 10 lots south of Baldwin Junior High School was purchased a year ago, but hasn’t been developed by the school district. The school board wants to change that.

- Baldwin School District patrons will see a slight increase in their 2008-2009 mill levy, which was approved unanimously at Monday night’s monthly meeting. This year’s budget is set at $15,438,033, which is up slightly from a year ago at $14,385,098. That is a seven percent increase from last year’s total budget.

- About two weeks ago, representatives from the Baldwin City Council, Baldwin City Police Department and the Baldwin School District had their annual meeting to discuss the SRO position. Despite troubled times in the past between the groups, this meeting ran smoothly and all parties are in agreement with how the position and the contract.
- Board makes bond official

- A November bond issue election for the Baldwin School District was officially approved Monday night. The vote was unanimous, 6-0, to approve the bond resolution.
